FORT KENT, Maine - The fundraising arm of the Fort Kent Public Library, Les Amis de la Bibliothèque Publique de Fort Kent, has gathered a generous collection of holiday goodies, gift certificates to local businesses, books, and a handmade basket for a raffle to support the mission of the library.
Contributors to the raffle include the craft skills of Heidi Welsh who wove the basket, SW Collins, Red Devil Coffee, Perley Brook Breads, Mikes and Sons, Bogan Books, John's Surfine, Bouchard Family Farms and some generous donors who asked to remain anonymous.
Folks can stop by the library at 1 Monument Square to see the basket and purchase tickets.
The drawing for the prize occurs at the end of November during the Christmas Tree Lighting.
Tickets go for $5 each, or five tickets for $20.
The money raised will go to the Friends of the Fort Kent Public Library/Les Amis de la Bibliothèque Publique de Fort Kent, which will in turn distribute the funds to purchase new books and support library programming.
